Kathleen is pleased to provide Habit-Reversal Training (HRT) for Tourette’s Syndrome and Tic Disorders. This type of therapy is called Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention for Tics (CBIT). Kathleen has 3 boys, all of whom have a diagnosis of Tourette’s Syndrome. Kathleen has completed the training required to offer CBIT, which includes a focus on self-awareness, trigger management, competing responses, and relaxation training. Relapse prevention and troubleshooting for future potential tics are also explored and practiced. Skills for tics, skills for life!
