Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

ERP is the most important strategy in CBT to treat OCD. Exposure is becoming aware and confronting the thoughts, situations, images, and objects that cause your anxiety. Response prevention is to actively stop compulsive behaviour when you come into contact with the thoughts and situations that cause your anxiety. Habituation is when you take note of the situations and fight off the urge to the point where your anxiety levels drop.
